Final investment was around $20,000 and the Nosara Foundation contributed with $5,000

Nosara. The youth of the community of Esperanza Sur -near Playa Guiones- will finally be able to enjoy healthy recreation and sports at night thanks to the inauguration of the lighting system for the field managed by the Development Association (ADI).

This project had to go through several logistical challenges, including installing the appropriate lighting system and adapting with the right voltage for it, which was only possible through a medium voltage transformer. The transformer was finally placed early in July thanks to an alliance between the ADI, the Nosara Foundation, Coopeguanacaste and ICE.

During the inauguration, different soccer matches were played between teams of all ages. Around 200 people attending felt the party atmosphere with music and food sales.

Jeffrey Grosshandler, President of the Nosara Foundation, also attended the inauguration and reported that this is the first official project carried out by this organization and the intention is to bring to life more ideas to make Nosara a more integrated community.

“Our Foundation does not impose any project on the people. We receive the ideas of the local associations and we look for the funds to make them possible”, Grosshandler commented.

Silvia Carrillo, President of the ADI Esperanza Sur, was very grateful to the Foundation and dedicated a recognition to Grosshandler.

The ADI was also in charge of building and painting the public stands, as well as keeping the grass in perfect condition. The lighting will also allow the Association to obtain resources from this sports space to continue with its own maintenance and self-reliance.
